Meet the Blogger
David L. Brown is the author of “After Calamity,” the novel that inspired the Star Phoenix Base initiative and this website. A graduate of the top-ranked University of Missouri School of Journalism, David has many years of experience as a journalist, editor, public relations writer and photographer. He has particular experience in the fields of science, technology, nature, agriculture and health. He is a contributor to the Examiner.com online news site, where he has the title “Southwest Science News Examiner.” Widely traveled, he is an internationally known landscape photographer and has a deep life-long interest in science and the natural world. David is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Society of Professional Journalists (which he presently serves as vice president of the New Mexico chapter), the Public Relations Society of America (Accredited), the American Agricultural Editors Association, and the American Society of Media Photographers (Life Member). He lives in New Mexico with his wife Patricia and their cat Tigger.
